Updated Friday 5 September

All Registration issues are dealt with by the Notts FA, we advise all teams to deal with Notts FA via your Club Secretary, with any Player Registration enquiries.

A player cannot play in a YEL League or Cup match without a valid 2008/09 Registration card, NO CARD = NO PLAY

We understand Notts County FC are using a number of players in trial matches this weekend, the YEL have no powers with regards this issue, Clubs should discuss any player issues with Mick Leonard of Notts County FC.

A player signed by Notts County FC can only play in the YEL with a signed letter from Notts County giving special permission and is subject to a limited number of games, if in doubt we recommend you do not use the player in the YEL.

If any team needs to cancel a fixture due to a shortage of players (due to missing cards or Notts County trialists) our advice is cancel the match and provide full reasons to the Match Controller. The YEL Committee will then discuss all cancellations at a later date and decide if any fines are liable due to cancellation taking the circumstances into consideration.

Reminder John McNicholas is Saturday Match Controller & Ian Goulding Sunday Match Controller.

ALL fixture issues including cancellations to the Match controller by email please not to the Admin Clerk.

Best of luck to all teams for the new season

Wollaton Hall Green v Aslockton Cranmers FC U9 - 29/01/2006 | Print |

Wollaton claim narrow victory over visiting Aslockton.

Visiting ACFC looked like maintaining their three month unbeaten record and gaining a surprise victory over league leaders Wollaton Hall when in the first five minutes after kick-off they poured forward and almost overwhelmed Wollaton's keeper, with centre-forward WILSON hitting the post twice and left-winger DEXTER sending in a stinging shot across the goal mouth.

However, rather than folding under the visitors pressure, Wollaton took charge and for the next fifteen minutes showed why they are runaway league leaders with some very skilfull and entertaining play and were rewarded with two goals from HALL and SHELTON.

Despite the disappointment of chances lost Aslockton did not give up and fought back for the rest of the half pushing defenders TONG and BLATHERWICK forward but still the vital goal eluded them.

The home team were a little quieter in the second half and while defending their two goal lead enabled the visitors to play some exciting football of their own, right-winger HARDY and substitute right-back DAWS making hay down the flanks and ACFC Captain BEARDSLEY pushing forward with some fine attacking runs in the centre.

Nevertheless, the home team never missed the opportunity to have a pop at the visitors goal and their defense held and it was only in the final minute that the visitors gained a consolation goal from WILSON who sent the ball into the top corner with a stinging strike.

We were expecting a blizzard of goals from the leagues two top scoring teams but in the event they were fairly evenly matched and goal-keepers MUSSERT and Wollatons BILES making scoring very tough with some great saves between them.

Time was not on the visitors side and Wollaton put another well deserved victory under their belts.

The match was played with great spirit shown by all the boys and an atmosphere in keeping with YEL's motto.
