Saturday 6th January 2007 Gedling Southbank 1 v Hucknall Sports U9s White 2

The first match of the New Year saw Sports away to Gedling. The game started with Sports unable to get out of their own half with Gedling coming out on the attack, resulting in them scoring the first goal. A wake up call for Sports who got straight back into the game and it wasn't long before Rose equalised.

The second half began with strong attacking football from both teams, several shots going wide and some great saves, especially from the Sports 'keeper Clarke, who was outstanding as usual and even after receiving a nasty injury to his mouth carried on regardless. It looked as though the game would end on a draw, but 10 minutes from the end Towers scored the winning goal for Sports.
