Saturday 11th November 2006
Hucknall Sports U9s White 7 v Wollaton Hall Green 0

Only a minute into the game and Sports had taken the lead with a goal from Rose. This first half continued at the same pace with Watts scoring the second goal. An unfortunate mix-up between a defender and his keeper resulted in a goal from Wollaton going into their own net followed not long after by a fine goal from Towers for Sports.

The second half started with Wollaton really stepping up the pressure, and in the first ten minutes Clarke had to make a succession of very good saves, but Sports soon got themselves back into the game with a goal from McShane. Substitute Kibble followed up with two good goals, but was denied a hattrick, when the Wollaton keeper got fingertips to a great shot at goal which looked certain to go in, and pushed it over the bar. The Wollaton boys have really stepped up a notch since last season. Their management must be proud of them because, even though they were losing, their heads stayed up and they fought right to the end of the game.

Tracey Kibble (Hucknall Sports U9s Whites)
