Sports got off to a good start away to West Bridgford Eagles, with Rose opening the scoring two minutes after kickoff when the keeper saved a shot at goal, only to see the ball roll out of his grasp and end up in the back of the net.
Rose was also involved in the second goal when a pass from him to Watts saw Watts scoring the first of his hattrick. Both keepers were kept busy making some great saves but minutes before half time Watts scored again and Sports went into half time 3-0 up. The second half started with both teams playing end to end but Sports were the first to score with a great goal from Watts who caught the ball on his chest turned and put it in the net. Watts was then substituted for Kibble, McShane for Goodacre and Towers for Trueman. Sports seemed to slacken off a bit, and Eagles came back with a belter of a goal from Barrett from the edge of the box into the top left hand corner. This seemed to wake up Sports, and not to be outdone, they replied with a great goal from Trueman from just inside the halfway line. Man of the match went to Clarke Tracey Kibble (Hucknall Sports U9s Whites) |
