Updated Wednesday 24 June

The YEL Divisional Committee will meet early July to formulate the Divisions for the 2008/2009 season.

All teams have until 30 June 2008 to submit by email (to Kev Cooper) any requests for special consideration for promotion & relegation.

The Divisional Committee will compile the Divisions based on the number of entries received, all Champions & Runners up will be automatically promoted, all other decisions including relegation are decided by the Divisional Committee. At some age groups we have lots of new teams and there may be more Divisions than last season in some age groups, which results in lots of teams changing Divisions.

The Invoices for League fees have been sent out and need to be paid by 30 June, the Divisions will not be set until all Clubs have paid the League Fees.

Further information on the format of the u8s sections for the 2008/2009 season will be announced soon.

7th October 2006 West Bridgford Giants 0 Hucknall Sports U9s White 3

Sports went to West Bridgford still top of the league and not having conceded a game. The game started at a very fast pace with Sports soon opening the scoring when a shot by Watts rebounded off the goal keeper towards McShane who hit it into the back of the net.

Five minutes later Sports scored again with a goal from Watts. Sports kept up the pressure with Towers great volley hitting the crossbar followed by another from Rose which hit the crossbar and bounced down but unfortunately didn't go over the line. Half time saw Sports 2-0 up after another volley by Towers went over the bar.

The second half started at the same pace as the first with Clarke having to make some very good saves to keep the Bridgford ball out of the net. Sports, not to be outdone, replied with some good shots at goal and well done to Bridgford's new 'keeper who made several great saves, but unfortunately Sports managed to get the ball in the net with a goal from Towers. Substitutions of Kibble and Trueman for Rose and McShane saw both boys having a really good game and they were both unfortunate not to score with a shot from each just going wide. This was a great game to watch with both sides playing really well. Man of the Match went to Watts

Tracey Kibble
